International Geneva reacts to Roe v. Wade.
A flurry of statements were released by high-level UN officials, agencies and NGOs alike in Geneva following the controversial overturn of Roe v. Wade. The landmark court case, decided in 1973, constitutionally protected abortion rights in the United States. Fearing that the US Supreme Court’s decision could lead to more anti-abortion rhetoric, international Geneva is preparing to mobilise.
