Hello, this is Michelle. In his endeavour to fast-track a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia, Donald Trump has been pressuring states to formally recognise Russia’s claim over Crimea.

While Kyiv has unequivocally rejected the suggestion so far, and any recognition without its agreement wouldn’t stand legally, experts fear far-reaching implications.
