Good morning, this is Paula. The funding crisis is forcing the UN agency leading the global battle against Aids to cut more than half of its workforce.

As traditional donors withdraw funding to aid organisations, other countries may be in a position to fill the gap. Meanwhile, the World Health Organization reports that another gap, this time in life expectancies between countries, needs to shrink.
