Hi there, this is Paula. In his first briefing since the start of the US-Israeli war with Iran, Tehran’s diplomat in Geneva met with the press to discuss negotiations with Washington. While noting progress in talks, the diplomat admitted that negotiations will be challenging, with the two already disagreeing over some key issues.

Hard work lies ahead for US-Iran negotiators after Bürgenstock talks. Iran’s ambassador in Geneva confirmed that the initial conditions for a peace process agreed with the US had been met. But there is little doubt that much can still go wrong in talks, with both parties disagreeing on what was agreed to regarding UN nuclear inspections.
