Hi, this is Michelle. Five years after Covid-19 shook the world and exposed the fragile and unequal global health system, nations finally conclude negotiations on a pandemic agreement, a sign for many that multilateralism isn’t dead.

Down the road at the World Trade Organization, the prospects for global trade growth this year were less rosy, just as Beijing appointed its ambassador to the organisation to lead turbulent trade negotiations.
