Good morning, this is Michelle. We heard more news from the US that will upend the aid sector. After pausing foreign assistance for a 90-day review, the Trump administration has now decided to terminate nearly 10,000 foreign aid-related awards.
We still don’t know who has been cut off, but USAid officials were reportedly working to send formal notice letters in the next few days.

Millions of people worldwide have been affected by the sudden halt in US funding last month. On Thursday, the US announced it was axing 92 per cent of foreign aid grants from the state department and the US Agency for International Development (USAid). It isn’t clear which projects have been affected.
Amnesty International had warned about the “immediate and devastating consequences” for Myanmar refugees, whose “lives could be lost unless the decision is urgently reversed”. Nine refugee camps along the border between Myanmar and Thailand – home to over 100,000 people – are especially vulnerable.
