Hello, this is Kasmira. Yesterday morning, in a corner of the UN's the vast barricaded grounds next to the Place des Nations, journalists were given a peek at a new immersive exhibition space and welcome centre that will open to the public in less than two weeks.
The low-rise, sand-coloured buildings are discrete and unassuming but inside, its creators aim to "wow" their visitors with a 60-minute experience that will leave them in no doubt of the importance of the UN and multilateralism to their everyday lives. |

New UN visitor centre unveils the necessity of multilateralism through emotions.
The Portail des Nations, a new visitor centre created on the grounds of the United Nations' European headquarters in Geneva will offer a unique immersive experience open to the public, starting on 8 June. For Ivan Pictet, the banker and the philanthropist who came up with the idea, the centre will offer a new “window” to the multilateral world at a time when it's sorely needed.
